NFAW radio show

On Wednesday, March 27, I represented YAYA on a radio show at Rollins College. The program, called Front Porch Radio with Julie Norris, dedicated 45 minutes to the topic of National Farmworker Awareness Week. Jeannie Economos, the Pesticide, Safety and Environmental Awareness Project Coordinator at the Apopka office of the Farm Worker Association of Florida, and I discussed a variety of farm worker issues, focusing on immigration and the many ways it affects farm workers. We discussed ways to address these issues locally by calling congress people and asking them to support Comprehensive Immigration Reform with a pathway to citizenship. YAYA believes it is important to educate and engage our community about farm worker issues such as immigration, and mobilize them into supportive action.
