A Community Vigil Honoring Farm Workers Who Have Died from Heat Stress
Every farm worker deserves to return home safely after a day’s work. Yet extreme heat continues to put farm workers’ lives and health at risk, especially when workers lack reliable access to water, shade, rest, medical care, and safe housing conditions.
On Friday, July 24, The National Farm Worker Ministry will come together for Bearing Witness: Standing with Farm Workers, a community vigil honoring farm workers who have died from heat stress and standing with workers calling for stronger protections through El Futuro’s Not One More Life campaign.
We will gather for a time of remembrance and solidarity, led by El Futuro Es Nuestro and organized in partnership with the Union of Southern Service Workers, the Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry of North Carolina, Muslims for Social Justice, the Southern Workers Assembly, and community advocates. All are invited to join in this collective witness and act of solidarity.
