Thirty-five young adults came to La Paz, CA to participate in the first Summit of the Youth And Young Adult network of the National Farm Worker Ministry July 14 – 16, 2006 at the National Cesar Chavez Center. Participants came from California, Arizona, Missouri and North Carolina. The summit consisted of both educational components and hands on experience.

On a very hot summer day with the temperature surpassing 100° F hundreds of people marched for Just Wages in Lamont, CA in the Dolores Huerta Foundation’s second annual march.

Women and children led the 3 mile procession across town. At the end there was a rally at a park where Adrian Acosta, representing NFWM’s Youth and Young Adult network, stated, “Although we are from different faith backgrounds, all of our religions call us to stand in solidarity with farm workers as they struggle for justice.”
