Reflection: Healing on the Sabbath

Healing on the Sabbath is a reflection from Luke 13:1-17 about how people of faith could respond to the pain of farm workers who experience gender based violence, with a particular focus on women who experience this in greater number and frequency. Use this resource for a group discussion or basis for a meditation or sermon during the Harvest of Justice season.

Sermon: From Property to Person

NFWM Board Member, Samuel B. Trickey, wrote and shared this message with Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Gainesville, FL. Using the lectionary to call on the community to support just immigration policies for farm workers, praying for farm workers and “moving in the direction of treating farm workers like people, not abusable property.” It is a great example of how to tie Harvest of Justice into sermons and messages.
