Young American Dreamers March in Lakeland on May 1

It was a pleasure to join the Young American Dreamers for their March for Immigrant Rights on May 1 in Lakeland, FL.

Lakeland doesn’t see too many marches for immigrants, or very many marches at all. People around town were interested to know what was going on, and it was heartwarming when passersby and drivers showed their support.

Congratulation to Young American Dreamers for realizing this powerful witness as to why immigration reform is so urgent. More than 500 people came out. A few young members were allowed to enter Congressman Ross’s office and share their families’ stories.  YAD proudly stood up for the importance of rewarding hard work and keeping families together.
