Orlando YAYA will continue to put pressure on Wawa convenience stores in support of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee’s Reynolds American campaign.
After our actions last month with the Pinellas Support Committee, during Wawa’s Grand Openings in Tampa, YAYA asked for a formal response to our previous request for a meeting with Wawa regional manager, Cherlene Marko-Heim. We wanted to talk with her regrading the labor and living conditions of NC tobacco workers.
Wawa Public Relations representative, Kristine McCarthy, said the regional manager would address our request, but once again, there is no response from Wawa.
Join us to continue to put pressure on Wawa until they understand their bargaining power in the tobacco supply chain.
