Julie Taylor Joins NFWM Team – Named Executive Director

JulieatGap(2)The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Julie Taylor has accepted the position of Executive Director of the National Farm Worker Ministry. Julie comes to NFWM from a successful career of 15 years with United Methodist Women (UMW), Spiritual Growth and Justice and Advocacy Ministries which included 13 years of service to the NFWM as the UMW representative to the NFWM Board of Directors. Her official start date is September 8, 2015.

Julie brings to the organization a passion for social justice causes that recognize the mutuality of ministry with those that are poor and marginalized, a love for farm workers who so generously provide our food and a deep understanding of the NFWM and its mission, informed by her 13 years of service to the organization as a member of the Board of Directors. During her tenure on the board, Julie was viewed as a dedicated, dependable and strong leader who consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization and farm worker led justice initiatives.   She served on the executive committee, served as the board Vice President and as a member of the personnel committee and held key leadership roles during times of transition and programmatic development.

The Board of Directors and current staff of the NFWM are excited to welcome Julie Taylor to the NFWM team as its new Executive Director. Julie’s personal strengths, leadership skills, passion for and experience in social justice and advocacy coupled with the skills, knowledge and relationships developed during her service on the board of the NFWM make her an ideal choice to lead the organization.
