Timber Creek High School's Earth Day Festival

On April 30th, Nicole and I tabled at Timber Creek High School’s Earth Day festival.  It was an amazing time filled with dance, music, and runway show with clothes made out of recycled goods!  YAYA was invited to table throughout the event, and bring awareness to the issues farm workers face in and off the fields.  During this time, Nicole and I met lots of students in the Wendy Dormal’s Service Learning class who helped organized the festivities.  We were awarded for attending the Earth Day celebration, and were also invited to do a presentation for Mrs. Dormal’s class the following week.  It was a great opportunity for YAYA to converse with high school students about their place in the fight for farm worker justice.  We even managed to get a couple sign-ons for our newsletter!!  Thanks to Wendy Dormal and Timber Creek High School for inviting us out to celebrate Earth Day!!
