Yard Sale

On February 18th Orlando YAYA had a yard sale fundraiser. Having stayed the night before, Yaya members woke up early that Saturday morning to assign roles and set up the various wares that had been donated by our wonderful community members. From clothes, to DVDs, lamps, and televisions, we sold all manner of things. It was also an opportunity to talk with the customers and peak thier interest in the work we do. While the weather was unseasonable cold it did not stop the most dedicated of shopper from showing up early. It was worth it though as we made money to continue the work we do in the community.

Fundraising is a critical part of what YAYA does. Without this event and other fundraisers we could not put on the community events we have become known for. The bike workshops, immigration drives, and educational events can only happen with support from our community members.
