“The Department of Justice report chronicling Sheriff Arpaio’s unconstitutional crimes and the federal immigration programs that made them possible moved the Department of Homeland Security to cut the Sheriff off from his 287(g) agreement and restrict his Secure Communities access.
But those programs are still going full force and being spread across the country. It’s time for the federal government to learn the lessons of Maricopa County and end S-Comm now.
