Prayer Service in Solidarity with Immigrants

On Sunday, June 6th, I attended a prayer service in solidarity with immigrants. The service took place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was hosted by FOCUS, a coalition of churches of diverse denominations.

This service was part of a national day of action, praying for immigrants and immigration reform. The event included music, prayer, and speeches including personal stories. This was a great non-denominational, diverse event and I enjoyed gathering with Orlando community members who care about, and are organizing for, more just immigration policy.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with other organizations and community members who Orlando YAYA may be able to work with more closely in the future on immigration issues.
