Film Screening w/ St. Pete for Peace

Viva la Causa film screening

On July 27, 8:30 pm, YAYA and St. Pete for Peace showed two, very touching, short films to raise awareness for the farmworkers’ struggle that continues to take place here in the U.S. More than 30 people showed up and most, if not all, of the people who participated signed up for our newsletter.

Dominique and Antonio introduce YAYA

The films shown were ‘Children in The Fields’ and ‘Viva La Causa’. They both effectively brought to light the injustices and neglect that the migrant farmworker experiences on a daily basis. As a result of the issues brought to light, YAYA experienced a lot of audience participation and concern.

Screening 'Viva la Causa'

We hope that we will see Tampa Bay YAYA grow in numbers and gain support from non-members. We thank St. Pete for Peace, Cafe Bohemia and the 30+ people who showed up and stayed for the discussion! And thanks to YAYA’s members for organizing and speaking!
