About Our Organization:
The National Farm Worker Ministry (NFWM) is a faith-based nonprofit that works to support and amplify farm worker organizing for justice across the United States.
Since its founding in 1971, NFWM has partnered with farm workers in their campaigns and communities, focusing on education, mobilization, and advocacy. We equip individuals, congregations, and member organizations to take effective action in solidarity with farm workers, both regionally and nationally.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director (ED) serves as both the public face of NFWM and the senior manager of a small but nationally engaged organization. The ED provides leadership in mission strategy, organizational development, fundraising, and communications, in partnership with the Board of Directors and staff team.
The successful candidate will have:

A demonstrated commitment to social, economic, and racial justice, especially with immigrant and marginalized communities

Proven experience in nonprofit management and leadership, including staff supervision and board collaboration

A strong track record in fundraising and organizational development (especially grants and foundation relationships)

Effective communication and relationship-building skills across diverse faith and cultural backgrounds

Experience working with faith communities and movement-based advocacy
-
A collaborative and inclusive leadership style that builds strong teams and partnerships

Bachelor’s degree required; experience with farm worker unions or advocacy organizations strongly preferred

Spanish fluency is highly desirable
Key Responsibilities

Provide visionary leadership and direction to advance NFWM’s mission and values

Represent NFWM in national networks, coalitions, and media

Strengthen and expand partnerships with farm worker-led organizations and faith-based allies

Oversee all aspects of organizational operations, including finances, programs, and communications

Lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and grant development

Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to guide mission and governance
-
Foster a supportive, mission-driven workplace culture rooted in justice and respect
