Take, or mail, a letter to Burger King, demanding they follow the lead of Taco Bell and McDonald's.
Plan a letter writing campaign for your church, organization, or event to invite others to sign a letter as well. You can mail them all together to save postage.
Organize a delegation of a few friends for a short visit with the management. Take a signed letter with you, explaining your concern.
CURRENT CAMPAIGNS:
Tomato pickers in Florida's fields face sweatshop conditions every day including sub-poverty wages, no raise in nearly 30 years, no basic labor rights! Don't let the King exploit farmworkers! BK Headquarters are in Miami -- let them know that we're watching them! !
IN THE NEWS: The Burger King Campaign Action on July 12 was a great success!
Thanks to all who participated! Steve Grover, Burger King VP, was actually in the restaurant watching us for the first part of the action. And we got coverage and a photo slideshow on Local 10 News.
Miami Fair Food Committe participates in National Days of Action for Fair Food.
May 19th and 20th, 2007 The Miami Fair Food Committee, which includes students and faith community representatives, visited Burger King Headquarters in Miami on behalf the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' Fair Food Campaign.
Burger King, the world's second largest burger company, has claimed that the penny per pound is not "doable" and that the company has no control over the growers and their treatment of the workers. But Yum Brands has done it and McDonald's has done it and we will continue to persuade Burger King that they can do it.
