Message from NFWM Board President Felix Garza

Dear NFWM Friends and Supporters,

I am writing to announce that Executive Director Rev. Lindsay Andreolli-Comstock will be leaving her position with the National Farm Worker Ministry as of February 2, 2015. The Executive Committee accepted Lindsay’s resignation and we are now carrying out a succession plan.

I am pleased to announce that Susan Alan will serve as Interim Executive Director effective February 3rd.  Susan currently serves as the Associate Director; she has been with NFWM for more than 14 years, carrying out both management and programmatic work. Susan’s commitment to the Ministry and to justice for farm workers is so strong that she re-located to Raleigh, NC when the national office moved in 2013. We are thankful to have Susan’s experience and knowledge to rely on during this transition.

While at NFWM, Lindsay demonstrated a strong commitment to the mission of the Ministry and she leaves us having strengthened and expanded the organization and set a positive course for the future of our work supporting farm workers across all of the United States. The Executive Committee is grateful for her leadership and service, and we wish her well in her new endeavor. Please see Lindsay’s statement below:

Dear NFWM Friends and Supporters,

This last year and a half at National Farm Worker Ministry has been a time of great excitement, growth and progress.  We accomplished    more than we ever imagined possible and gained a tremendous amount of momentum in the process. I truly believe we are thriving!

With that said, it is with both sadness and excitement that I write to inform you that I will be leaving National Farm Worker Ministry on February 2, 2015. I have graciously accepted an offer to become Executive Director of The Beatitudes Society. The Beatitudes Society is a national leadership development organization that identifies, resources and connects young entrepreneurial faith leaders who are creating new models for vibrant church life and the pursuit of social justice.

I am grateful for the valuable experience I have gained during my time at National Farm Worker Ministry. I wish you, the rest of the board and staff of National Farm Worker Ministry every success.

Sincerely,   Rev. Lindsay Andreolli-Comstock, Executive Director, National Farm Worker Ministry

For more than 40 years, NFWM has partnered with each of the major farm worker unions and organizations in the U.S. in the vital work of bringing about empowerment and self-determination for farm workers. In solidarity with the men, women and children whose labor feeds us every day, we work to bring their struggle to the public consciousness in order to create change.

That work continues because of the faithful and committed support of you. Because of farm worker supporters like you, NFWM will continue to grow and do transformational work among our farm worker and faith partners. Thank you for your continued support and trust in the good work of National Farm Worker Ministry.

Sincerely,

Felix Garza, President, National Farm Worker Ministry
